Thankful Thursday #55

I am so thankful for so many things everyday.

Is it just me or do the summers seem to get shorter and shorter?  The heat might seem like it lasts forever, but I swear it feels like school JUST let out.

My nieces and nephews are getting ready for school to start back.

Like in a week.

From today!

Summers just don't last long enough at all.

I was in a store the other day and Fall things were out.  I sniffed a Fall candle and ever since I am ok with summer quickly coming to a screeching halt.

I am so thankful for the wonderful scents of Fall and all the memories that go along with them.  I am especially thankful for Fall candles.

I have been busy the last couple of days buying some new things for my jewelry to get ready for Fall.  I have ordered new colors and have even made a few pieces.

This pair of earrings was so much fun to make.  I love wire wrapping beads.  There's just something about it that is so enjoyable.

The whimsical look of the ear wires make this pair casual, while still being dressy and elegant.  There are so many colors of Fall.  There are Emeralds, Smoky Quartz, Amber Heliodor, Indian Carnelian, and Aquamarine.  I usually associate Aquamarine with Summer, but I thought the light pretty color was a great compliment to the darker ones.

Fall Inspired Earrings

I also made this pair.  The silver and gray are so pretty with the Rainbow Flash Moonstone.  The crosses are Pave Diamond.  These are trendy, elegant, and have a bit of a rocker vibe to them.

Moonstone Pave Diamond Cross Sterling Silver Earrings

I am obsessed with Moonstone right now.  It's just so pretty, and well, the Moon part kind of makes me think of a full moon and scary things and well that goes right into my favorite time of year.......

I listed a couple of other things and have made more pieces to add to my Etsy shop.  You can click on the titles to go straight to the listing or click HERE to go to my shop.

Here are three other pairs of earrings I listed this week:

Thankful Thursday #54

I am so thankful for so many things everyday.

I am so thankful I get to do fun adult things with my kids.

Everyone is always so busy and it's hard for me to get the three of them together.  They live at home, but everyone is in and out all the time.

I know how to get their attention, though.  There are certain meals that get them all running and certain fun events too that reel them in.

We didn't get to go on a "family" vacation because of their schedules so I got concert tickets for this past weekend and rented a limo and they asked their boyfriend, girlfriends, and a few friends to go with us.

We went to see Chicago and Reo Speedwagon and it was so much fun!  We could have just ridden in the limo all night and had fun.

I didn't mind the little bit of a splurge since we didn't go on a vacation.

These are a few pictures from our fun night.

I made this pair of earrings for myself to wear.

I just got in some really pretty Sterling Silver chain that is anti tarnish.  I can not wait to work with it!

Thankful Thursday #53

I am so thankful for so many things everyday.

Today, I am thankful for this post being the first post of my second year.  My first Thankful Thursday post was last year on July 13th.

I have had a great year with my jewelry and I am so excited about the charms I have made and the ones I am still making!

When I started my blog last year, it was around my mom's birthday.  We just celebrated her birthday this Tuesday along with my brother in law's birthday.  He is my sister's husband and we all grew up together so he and my mom have celebrated years of birthdays together.

We went to my brother's house and he cooked out for everyone.  Our family has really grown over the years with me, my sister and my brother having 11 kids between us.

The group was even bigger this year!  This is the first time all three of my kids are dating someone at the same time.  They all three had their boyfriend and girlfriends at the birthday party.  We took some pictures and my mom got a little teary eyed saying it was a great day because everyone was there.

With so many kids, it is hard to get everyone together.  Her mom and dad and brother and his wife were also there.

This is my daughter with my mom and brother in law, Harrison.  He is such a great uncle to my kids. My son works with him and all three have a very special relationship with him.  He is very protective of my daughter.  With them not having a relationship with their dad, Harrison has filled in many times when they needed him.  We are so blessed with our family.

I have to add that not only are my kids all spoken for at the moment, but that I absolutely love and adore who they are all dating.  That has to be a rare thing!

I am thankful for the last year with my jewelry and all of the blessings that have come with it.  I have made friends through making my charms, the places I buy materials from, and the customers who buy my pieces.  It is so rewarding and I absolutely love what I do and am so excited where it is going.

I am going to be posting a lot of new pieces in my Etsy shop soon.  I have gotten in some really pretty gemstones and I am consistently creating new charm designs and pretty much always have some in production.

These are a new strand of Lepidocrocite Quartz.  The color of red is a little bronze metallic and rust in color in some of them.  They are so pretty! They are very healing and have a lot of benefit to them as well as being beautiful.

These are also new!  Just a few of the gemstones that came in yesterday from my sweet friends, Christine and Lisa, at The Gem Loft.

I have a lot of work to do, but that's ok.  I love every single minute of it!

Thankful Thursday #52

I am so thankful for so many things everyday.

We do birthdays big around here and, of course, yesterday was fun with family celebrating freedom and America!

My sister and her family went on vacation last week and my nieces and nephews wanted me to make them a few things.  It always makes me feel so good that they want to wear what I make.

I got their things together and gave them to them the day before they left, but the glue was still drying on some of the bracelets.  They were so excited to wear them they put them on on the ride down and sent me pictures.  They also sent me pictures at the end of the trip showing me they all held up!

These are the ride down.

It's hard to see from the seat belts, but they also have on necklaces with my glow in the dark cross charms.  They were at a restaurant one night and the waitress wanted to know where they got them!

These are the last day of the trip.

I gave them different colors, but they all got blue with it being the week before the 4th.  My nephew, Macalister, he is the middle of my sister's five kids is really into wearing everything red, white, and blue, so I made his bracelet a little different.

July 3rd was a big day too.  Our older dog, Mia, turned four and so did my dad.

Sounds weird, doesn't it?

It was his fourth birthday because he had his stem cell transplant on July 3rd, four years ago.  Part of the process was he had to get all of his childhood vaccinations over again.  That is how much the transplant wipes out your system.  If you have to go through childhood shots again, I think it's only fair you get to start over with your age, don't you?!

He had his appointment with his oncologist last Friday and we always pray really hard, and if I am being honest, hold our breath until we hear from them.  He had a great visit and report so we are so incredibly thankful.  I am not afraid to say I am a total Daddy's Girl and he is not only grandfather for both sides to my kids, he has been their dad in every way for the last 10 years too.  Me and my kids wouldn't know what to do without him.

This picture is from the summer of his transplant.  I don't mind looking back, because we realize just how blessed we are. It's my daughter with my dad.

I got in these new African Sand Cast beads from Ghana and will be making some things soon!  I also got in some really pretty new gemstones I can't wait to get to working with!
