Thankful Thursday #25

I am so thankful for so many things everyday.

I am thankful we had a great Christmas.  All of my family lives close by (some of us on the same street or just 3-5 miles away) but getting together for Christmas is extra special.  My mom works so hard and always gives us such a fun day.

I am thankful for two things today.  First, I am thankful for the week between Christmas and New Year's Day.  The days before Christmas are always exciting and fun, but the week between is so nice.  The pressure is off and the kids are home and it's just a fun time before the new year and everything starts back up.  I enjoy watching movies, going out to dinner, and just doing what we want to.

Growing up, my parents would have a New Year's Eve party.  It was always fun.  It was with my aunt and uncle and we had family and friends at our house for a party.

The second thing I am thankful for is that my dad had his yearly check up with his oncologist this morning.  He is still in remission from his stem cell transplant for Hodgkins Lymphoma.  He had a cold, a really bad one that hit him hard so he was worried going in today.  Even if he had felt fine, we just pray really hard and hold our breaths until we get a text from him and my mom. We were so shocked when it came back after he had it the first time, we are never very confident when he goes for this appointment.  God is so good and thankfully he got a great report.

I have taken a few days and just enjoyed the slower pace around here, but I got these new beads in and I am anxious to make things with them and my new "Morning Has Broken" charms.  I have some really interesting things in this mix and will post about them when I make the pieces.  Just to pique your interest, I have Dragon Blood Jasper beads, Rainforest Rhyolite (formed from lava and beautiful places in them from air bubbles), and Moldavite which is formed from a meteorite hitting the earth!  I am going to make some really pretty men's bracelets with them, but have some great things for women and the new charms too!

Do not be afraid about the future - instead, give everything over to God in prayer:-
Don't worry about anything, but in all your prayers ask God for what you need, always asking him with a thankful heart
Philippians 4:6, (GNT)

Prayers for each of you a happy and blessed New Year.

 Seek God for the future:-
Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.
Proverbs 3:5-6, (NLT)
